45K likes on a LinkedIn post?

I didn’t know that was even possible.

 🪄✨ LinkedIn legend(?) 🪄✨

I was scrolling through my LinkedIn the other day, and saw a mutual of mine had liked a viral post.

I know what you’re probably thinking,

Viral post? On LinkedIn? How many likes did it have, 250?

Try 45,000… and counting.

Wow.

Let me also note that her usual like count is between 80-150. So this was a jump.

A big jump.

Biggest I’ve ever seen!

(Seriously, I have never seen a post above 200 likes from her before)

The post by Daniela Andrade tells the story of a recent trip she took to Amsterdam, and the revelation that came with it.

As an American studying at Harvard, she’s noticed an emphasis on the individual hustle, everyone pushing for the best they can be, while collective infrastructure fails.

But in Amsterdam, community support is a top priority, resulting in a lot of pros:

Higher life expectancy than in the U.S., lower healthcare costs, and better mental health outcomes.

She states, “America has more health tech startups than any nation on Earth… We've built a $4.5 trillion wellness industry selling solutions to problems that better infrastructure would prevent.”

And she finalizes her post with one question: “What if we stopped selling individualized solutions and started building systems?”

Honestly, it’s a well-deserved viral post.

It’s motivating. It’s honest. It’s well researched.

It even ends with a pretty photo.

So, what was her Viral LinkedIn Post formula?

Don’t worry, Daniela has that covered in a follow-up post.

Here, she explains that she posted almost every day for over a year.

And in doing so, she’s discovered a lot of tips regarding the LinkedIn algorithm.

First: Photos beat text every time.

Her posts with photos saw 2-3x engagement than just text posts.

Second: Timing is important.

10:30 am - 12:30 pm is the best time to post.

Third: Reply, reply, reply.

It’s the most time-consuming part, but you need to reply to every comment you can for higher engagement.

Fourth: Make it personal.

Personal stories always do better than vague blah blahs.

Fifth: Consistency beats perfection.

Here, she admits she almost didn’t send out her viral post.  She thought it was too simple.

But she needed a post that day. Even though it wasn’t perfect in her head, she pressed send just to be consistent with her everyday post goal.

And look what happened.

So, long story short:

Post as much as you can, as honestly as you can, and with photos that will drag people in.

You have the ability to tell your true story to the world.

You just need to do it little by little, every day.
